We collaborate with a network of suppliers who help us conduct a sustainable business.
From using down feathers alternative and recycled nylon into our garments, to our ethical production approach,
every step we take is an achievement towards a restorative economy and eco-conscious future.
Regenerated Nylon
All our designs are made with ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon. Made from waste such as fishing nets from the oceans and aquaculture, fabric scraps from mills and carpets destined for landfill, it’s infinitely recyclable.
It’s exactly the same as virgin nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded infinitely. That means you buy new products without ever having to use new resources.
As well as being a solution on waste, ECONYL® is also better when it comes to climate change. It reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 80% compared with the material from oil.
Down Feather Alternative
To insulate our designs we use Thermore® Ecodown®, a 100% recycled and durable down feathers alternative, that is also Peta approved vegan. It contains 100% recycled fibres from PET bottles. Every jacket insulated with Ecodown® allows recycling of up to 10 PET bottles.
This allows the reuse of a considerable number of bottles, which would have otherwise ended their useful life as waste in a landfill. Also, using PET bottles instead of oil will help protect energy reserves for future generations.
What's equally impressive is that our 100% recycled thermal insulation can be washed and/or dry cleaned with confidence. This high level of durability equates to exceptional, long term warmth over the life of a garment.
Ethical Production
AVRA is breaking the consumerism circle: the garments are above trends, not seasonal and do not go on sale.
The pieces are made in England by a small team of experienced and passionated seamstresses.
We use Italian sustainable fabrics and wadding of exceptional quality and performances.
At AVRA we believe in slow fashion: the pieces are meanly made to order.
We don't follow the practice of destroying unsold stock or rolls of unused fabric that is commonplace for luxury labels.
